Funny thing about Felicity's Green Riding Habit...

When I first starting liking AG about 7 years ago, I always admired Felicity's Green Riding Habit and Hat. I always thought I would get that outfit one day. Samantha was our first doll and we collected for her first, but I knew that one day I would get a Felicity. Well, then the whole retirement thing started happening and the Green Riding Habit was out of my price range. I was so ticked off looking at auctions for that riding habit at $100++++ I almost bought it on e-Bay more than once. I really, really, really wanted it. Then AG brought it back and I haven't even purchased it. I have sort of lost interest. I wonder if I just didn't want because I couldn't have it. [img]redface.gif[/img] Or, I wonder if I didn't just want it so I could "WIN" an e-Bay auction and have something rare.

Oh, I know how that is. I never had much interest in Samantha's blue winter party dress until I found out it wasn't available anymore. Then it came back for a short time and I didn't get it. Of course, when it disappeared again I *had* to have it. [img]redface.gif[/img] Lucky for me, a very nice board member sold it to me at original retail price. [img]graemlins/rose.gif[/img]

I'm still trying to decide what to do with Marisol...I bought her just before she retired, just because I was afraid I would want her after she was gone. Well...she's still in her box in the closet. [img]redface.gif[/img] I think it was just the thrill of having a limited edition that I was attracted to. But now that I have Jess, who I really *do* like, I'm thinking that one LE is enough. I feel exactly the same way about the riding habit! I always wanted to get it for DD, but we just never got it.

I have it now...and it does absolutely nothing for me. I've even thought about selling it, or sending it back!

I think for me it is the element of wanting something I couldn't have. Now that it's so easy to get...it's no big deal.

I watched the Felicity movie last night. The green riding habit was not that attractive on the actress, IMO. Even Felicity didn't want to wear it but her mother made her because the grandfather gave it to Felicity as a gift. I really liked the other outfits in the movie, however. The actress that played Felicity was perfect! She looked like Felicity would in my imagination.
